Introduction
It has
been forty years since the fathers of the Second Vatican Council
issued Sacrosanctum Concilium,
the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy.
This document from the shepherds of the universal Church
set forth a mandate about what our liturgies are and what they should
be. They told us that in our “earthly liturgy
we take part in a foretaste of that heavenly liturgy celebrated
in the holy city of Jerusalem
toward which we journey as pilgrims” (8).
Our “liturgy is the summit toward which the activity of the
Church is directed; at the same time it is the fount from which
all the Church’s power flows” (10).
What a wonderful and marvelous vision the council fathers
had for a renewal of our liturgy! This vision continues to challenge and inspire
the faithful even today. |

Introducción
Han pasado cuarenta años desde que los padres del Segundo Concilio Vaticano
publicaron Sacrosanctum Concilium, la Constitución sobre la Sagrada Liturgia.
Este documento de los pastores de la iglesia universal expuso
un mandato acerca de lo que nuestras liturgias son y lo que deben
de ser. Ellos nos dijeron; que “En la liturgia terrenal pregustamos
y tomamos parte en aquella liturgia celestial, que se celebra en
la santa ciudad de Jerusalén hacia la cual nos dirigimos como peregrinos”
(8). Nuestra “liturgia es
la cumbre a la cual tiende la actividad de la Iglesia y al mismo
tiempo la fuente de donde mana toda fuerza”
(10). ¡Que visión
maravillosa los padres del concilio tuvieron para la renovación
de nuestra liturgia! Esta visión continua retando e inspirando
a los fieles aún en estos tiempos. |
Here
at Saint Isaac’s we are a pilgrim people of many different ethnic,
cultural, socio-economic, and generational backgrounds.
We are a varied community with varied needs and challenges
that we serve with through our various ministries.
Yet each weekend we gather together as one community nourished
on the Word and fed by the bread broken at the altar.
It is this sacrifice of the Mass that we build up to each
week, and it is this sacrifice of the Mass that strengthens us to
meet the challenges of the following week. |

Aquí en San Isaac somos
un pueblo peregrino de diversas culturas étnicas, social-económico,
y generaciones de antecedentes. Somos una comunidad variada con varias necesidades
y retos a los cual servimos en y atraves
de los diversos ministerios. Mas
cada fin de semana nos reunimos como una comunidad alimentada por
la Palabra y por el pan quebrado en el altar.
Es este sacrificio de la Misa el que nos edifica cada semana,
y es este sacrificio de la Misa el que nos da refuerza para poder
enfrentar los retos de la semana siguiente. |
While
the Liturgy enables us to live out our lives as the children of
God, doing the Liturgy is itself a large task.
Each Mass requires the skills and talents of many different
people. The Liturgy is our work to praise and worship
God, and some of us have special gifts and talents that allow
us to work in a particular way.
Please take a few minutes to look over the roles discussed
here. Perhaps you
have some gifts and talents that you can use to help serve our
community, our Liturgy, and our God.
The work of the Liturgy is an enormous task.
We need your help. If
you hear God calling you to one of these ministries, please contact
the Office of Music and Liturgy.

Mientras que la liturgia nos permite
vivir nuestras vidas como hijos de Dios, preparar la liturgia es
una grand tarea. Cada
Misa requiere las habilidades y los talentos de varias personas. La liturgia es nuestra labor para alabar y
honrar a Dios, y algunos de nosotros tenemos talentos y dones especiales
que nos permiten laborar en una forma particular.

The Art & Environment team is
a group of artists of various disciplines that come together and
attempt to create a liturgical environment that fosters a sense
of the sacred. This space speaks of the mystery of God, praises
God, and speaks to us about who we are as God’s children working
to build up the Kingdom.

El grupo de Arte y Medio Ambiente es un grupo de
artista con diversos talentos, juntos intentan crear un ambiente
litúrgico que adapta un sentido de lo sagrado. Este ambiente nos
habla del misterio de Dios, Alaba a Dios, y nos habla de quienes

Altar
Servers assist the priest, deacon, and, in turn, assembly during
Mass. Historically this role was performed by adult
men, in recent years children primarily fulfilled this role. At Saint Isaac’s we encourage all active and
initiated members of the community—young and old, male and female—to
serve in this ministry. Married
couples and families are especially encouraged to serve together.

del altar asisten al sacerdote, a los diáconos, y a la vez a la asamblea durante la Misa. Históricamente este
papel fue realizado por hombres adultos, en años recientes los niños ocupaban este papel. En
San Isaac animamos a todos los miembros activos e iniciados de la

A less visible,
though just as integral, service provided for the liturgy is the
service and care of our sacred linens.
At Mass there are towels used for drying, corporals used
to preserve crumbs of the consecrated bread, and purificators
used to absorb the Precious Blood and clean the common cup.
We create quite a bit of soiled linens that must be cared
for.

En la Misa hay toallas utilizadas para secar, corporales para preservar
las migajas del pan consagrado que es el cuerpo de nuestro Señor
, y los purificadores utilizados para absorber la Sangre Preciosa

Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion
serve Christ present in the assembly by ministering his body and
blood to their brothers and sisters.
They also serve the unity of the worshipping community
by taking communion to those members who are prevented by sickness,
old-age, or other cause from taking part in the assembly.
Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, in addition
to pursuing local formation particular to their ministry, are
required by our bishop to complete training and certification
from the Diocese of Orlando.

Los Ministros Extraordinario de la Santa Comunión le sirven a Cristo presente
en la asamblea al ministrar su cuerpo y sangre a sus hermanos y
hermanas. Ellos también le sirven aquellos que están unidos a nuestra
comunidad de fe llevándoles la comunión a
los miembros que son prevenidos por la enfermedad, por la
vejez, o por otra causa a tomar parte en la asamblea. El Ministro

In proclaiming the Word of God, lectors
exercise their responsibility in mediating the presence of Christ.
God speaks to the assembly through them, and the impact
of God’s message will depend significantly on their conviction,
their preparation and delivery.

Ministers of Hospitality
are outgoing, warm individuals who help welcome people into the
space and provide a comfortable atmosphere for parishioners and
visitors alike. Ministers
of Hospitality are also cool-headed persons that are able to assist
with different situations that may arise within the worshipping
environment.

| It seems that every
time something wonderful happens in the Bible, the people break out
into song. There are many opportunities
to praise God and lead the assembly in song. We have a children’s choir, an English Choir,
and two Spanish Choirs. |

cada vez que sucede algo maravilloso en la Biblia, la gente forma
una canción. Hay muchas oportunidades para alabar a Dios y dirigir
