Religious Education (PREP)

Saint Isaac Jogues Catholic Community is committed to more than just “handing down the faith.” Our goal is “growth in faith,” through Religious Education Programs and “celebrating faith” through Sacramental Catechesis and Liturgical celebrations.

This implies providing the proper information, working on value formation and leading to a conversion and transformation, to live out the Gospel.

Responsibility for catechesis rests with the entire Parish. “Catechesis always has been and always will be a work for which the whole Church must feel responsible and must wish to be responsible.” (Catechesi Tradendae, “Catechesis in our Time” by Pope John Paul II, 1979). The entire faith community of Saint Isaac Jogues needs to be interested in, supportive of, and concerned about catechesis at all levels.

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as a good disciple of God’s varied grace” (I Pt. 4:10).

We would like to invite you to share your gift in our P.R.E.P.. We will provide training and materials for you to accomplish this ministry. If you would like more information, please, call the Director or his Assistant in the parish office at 407-249-0906. There are numerous different ways where you can help. One way is as a Catechist which leads the teaching of a class. Another way is to be an Assistant Catechist aiding the head Catechist in the classroom. Lastly, you can help with countless different areas outside of the classroom with such things like being a greeter, or making phone calls, help with filing in the Religious Education Office, etc.

  • We offer religion classes for pre-school children on Sunday mornings during the 10:00AM and 12:00PM Mass times.
  • There are classes for the K-8th grade students on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Classes are also offered for K – 8th grade children on Tuesday evenings from 6:30–8:00 p.m.
  • There are classes for the K-8th grade students on Wednesday afternoons from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
  • We offer religion classes for 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
  • We also coordinate all the Sacramental Preparation for Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation which is usually held on various Thursday evening sessions throughout the year.
  • Finally, we offer various programs throughout the year to help adults to grow in their faith. These range from a simple bible study, to having speakers give a presentation on a specific topic, to the R.C.I.A. process which is how unbaptized adults (and older children) are fully initiated in the Catholic Christian faith.
   La comunidad de San Isaac Jogues se compromete a no solo “pasar nuestra fe.” Nuestro propósito es “crecer un nuestra fe” a través de Programas de Educación Religiosa y “celebrar nuestra fe” a través de Catequesis Sacramental y celebraciones Litúrgicas.

Esto implica proveer buena información, trabajando en los valores de formación, el cuan nos lleva a la conversión y transformación, y vivir el Evangelio.

La responsabilidad del catequismo descansa sobre toda la Parroquia. “Catequesis siempre fue y será un trabajo por el cual toda la Iglesia debe de sentir responsabilidad y querer mantener ese sentido de responsabilidad”. (Catequesis Tradendae, “Catequesis en nuestro tiempos” del Papa Juan Pablo II, 1979). La comunidad de San Isaac Jogues necesita estar interesada, en apoyo, y preocupada acerca de todos los niveles del catecismo.

“Así como cada uno tiene su talento, úselo para servir uno al otro como buenos discípulos de la gracia variada del Señor”. (1 Pt. 4:10)

Nos gustaría invitarlos a compartir su talento en P.R.E.P. Nosotros proveemos entrenamiento y todo el material necesario para que usted sea exitoso en este ministerio. Si usted desea más información, por favor de llamar al Director o su Asistente al (407)249-0906. Hay numerosas formas en que usted nos puede ayudar. Una de esas formas es siendo Catequista, cual es la persona de enseña en la clase. Otra forma es siendo la asistente de la Catequista, la cual ayuda a la Catequista con cosas en la clase. No solo obstante hay numerosas formas de ayudar, por ejemplo, con llamadas a los padres, con la hospitalidad durante nuestras clases, o tal vez, con los papeleos en la oficina.

Ofrecemos las siguientes clases religiosas:

  • Pre-school—Domingos durante las Misas de 10:00a.m. y 12:00p.m.
  • Clases de K-8th Grado—Domingos de 4:00 p.m. a la 5:30 p.m.
  • Clases de K-8th Grado—Martes de 6:30 p.m. a 8:00 p.m.
  • Clases para 6, 7, 8 Grado — Miércoles de 7:00 p.m. a 8:30 p.m.
  • Clases de K-8th grado Miercoles de 5 p.m. da la 6:30 p.m.

Clases de preparación para recibir los Sacramentos de Reconciliación, Primera Comunión, y Confirmación so usualmente varios lunes en la tarde durante el año.

Finalmente ofrecemos varios programas para ayudar a los adultos crecer en su fe. Estos programas varían entre estudios bíblicos, presentaciones, talleres específicos, y finalmente R.C.I.A. (Iniciación de Adulto) cual es un proceso en el cual los adultos y jóvenes que no han sido bautizados pueden ser completamente iniciados el la fe Cristiana Católica.
